Close Proximity is a tightly constructed suspense drama set during Covid_19 South African lockdown; explored through the experience of Nthabiseng, a young married woman who is a dance teacher. Her quiet and composed demeanour falls away as we see a more disturbed and pained mind of a woman who is struggling with the traumas of the past and her feelings of inadequacy, while trying to fulfil her sense of duty as a wife, She is in a state of confusion as she thinks her body has failed her and she can’t she can’t bare children.

The film goes on to reveal that her Husband “Yolo” has been the reason for all her miscarriages because he is obsessed with the Nthabiseng and he feels that having a child in between the two of the will create a distance. Nthabiseng believes that she’s mentally unstable and She is on chronic medication to help her manage her mental state and is monitored carefully by her husband, Yolo. who Makes sure that he takes the pills. The film in explores how many woman do not have sense of agency over their bodies, they lack control and this Character takes us through that experience.
